About Dr Rashmi

I possess a strong educational and research background, holding a Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Biology and a Master of Science in Microbiology from Mumbai University.
I have worked with Euro International School for four years (teaching Biology from grades 4 to 11) which has allowed me to interact with children and understanding what they expect from education system. I had been given the opportunity to head the Science department for grades 3-5, and this allowed me to spread my wings of creativity in the form of worksheets, projects, clubs and lab activity that help the children explore their hidden talents. Doing projects enabled the students to learn with fun. This is exactly what I want the students to do, to explore, analyse and take responsibility for their own education with teachers being the guiding force, to lead them the correct path.
I most certainly concur with the philosophy of letting the young inquisitive mind explore and imbibe knowledge in a more interactive manner rather than through the method of rote learning. The joys of learning in a more interactive manner is certainly the way forward, keeping up with the changing times and one which I have tried to follow both during my years of learning as well as during my time as a teacher.
I feel with my background deeply entrenched in the field of research I certainly am well equipped and comfortable with the scientific process and methodology involved in systematic learning coupled with the power of analytical thinking and reasoning.

About the lesson

Working with an average of 35 students/class.
Conducting small group and individual classroom activities with students based on differentiated learning needs to ensure all students are learning at full potential.
Responsible for employing assessment tools and strategies to improve instruction methods.
Part of parent teacher meetings to maximize student learning opportunities and develop forward thinking plans to correct ongoing issues.
Correction of workbooks and notebooks and maintaining a record of the same.
Part of various workshops to enhance teaching and learning skills.
Adopted distinctive teaching methodologies, documented all lessons plans, organized group discussions and mentored troubled areas.
Responsible for preparing assessment worksheets for formative and summative assessment.
Responsible for teacher training and conducting workshops.

