About Matt
I am first and foremost a musician. I've been playing piano for 18 years and guitar for 12. I've studied advanced classical and jazz piano theory, harmony, improvisation, composition and arranging at the Australian National University and the Australian Institute of Music. I've taught piano for 10 years and guitar for at least 5 years. I've studied pedagogical methods for younger students and have had very good experiences in the past with students whether it be a hobby for them or a long-term serious undertaking.

My method is to focus and improve upon a student's weaknesses whilst bolstering their strengths to make sure that they are enjoying lessons and are genuinely interested in what they wish to accomplish. My goal is to make sure that my students are engaged and willing to learn more each time I see them.
