About Joshua
My name is Joshua. I have a background in psychological science and postgraduate study in Applied Behaviour Analysis, with extensive experience in education and training across Queensland.
I have worked as a First Aid Trainer, delivering structured training programs to workplaces across the state, as well as teaching children in roles such as swim instruction and beach safety education. These experiences have shaped my ability to break down complex information into clear, practical steps that students can actually apply.
My academic background includes psychology and statistical subjects, which means I approach maths with an understanding of how people learn, think, and build confidence. I focus on developing strong foundations, logical reasoning, and independent problem-solving skills rather than rote memorisation.

Session lengths range from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the student’s needs, attention span, and academic demands.
I hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, which means sessions are structured, outcome-focused, and professionally delivered. This is not casual homework help. Each lesson is designed with clear objectives, guided practice, and feedback.
Topics commonly covered include algebra, trigonometry, interest and financial maths, statistics, and probability. However, the focus is always on building strong foundational understanding rather than rushing through content.
My approach is strengths-based and goal-oriented. We build from what the student can already do, develop confidence through structured problem-solving, and progressively increase complexity as mastery improves.
