About Thomas

I am a university student in my final year of the Bachelor of Science (Advanced) (Honors) / Medical Science double degree at the Australian National University (majoring and specializing in Chemistry and minoring in Physics) where I am also working as a teaching assistant for first year chemistry students and have completed almost every chemistry course offered at the undergraduate level. I achieved a 97+ ATAR in Canberra (2021) studying advanced Mathematics (double major), Physics, and Chemistry.

Outside of university, I enjoy sports, competing at nationals for the u22s ACT indoor cricket squad (2024 and 2025) as well as the 2024 GKR karate world cup (open blackbelt division). I also enjoy music, where I have gained 6 years of French Horn tutoring experience and completed my grade 8 in piano (2022).

I have a strong passion for science, which I enjoy passing on to students to drive them towards a deep understanding and top marks.

About the lesson

I offer Chemistry tutoring for students at all levels (including university), with flexibility for both in-person and online sessions. While most lessons are around one hour, I am happy to adjust the duration based on the student’s needs and focus.

I encourage students to engage directly with the material by solving problems, asking questions, and exploring concepts in depth.

I tailor my approach to each student's learning style—whether visual, auditory, or hands-on to ensure they feel comfortable and confident. I also place a strong focus on building sustainable study habits, helping students not only understand the current material but also become more independent and effective learners in the long run.

Ultimately, my goal is to make Chemistry more accessible and enjoyable while boosting my students' confidence in their abilities.
