About Marguerite
I taught English in mainstream education in Nairobi for twenty-five years before I came to England. In 1982 my students attained top position in the country. I have privately tutored students for the 11+ and GCSE examinations assisting them to gain a higher grade than they did before.
My ESOL and IELTS students have always secured the desired grade under my tutelage and through their own hard work and determination.

My name is Marguerite Coutinho. I have been teaching English to adult speakers of other languages for almost fifteen years and I am passionate about it.
My preferred methodology is visual and tactile which has helped to consolidate the learning outcomes for my students. I use a multi-sensory approach by incorporating technology, particularly Web 2.0 tools, in my repertoire to suit all learners' need and learning styles.
My learners are at the heart of my teaching, as seeking to improve their skills by providing personalised instruction, is my priority. I do this by implementing bespoke learner-centered task-based teaching techniques. The lessons are planned and delivered interactively and interestingly in order to encourage, motivate and engage the learners as well as promote learner autonomy.
