About Jenna

Holding Bachelor's Degrees in Dance and Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, I have been practicing dance and yoga for 20+ years. With a solid foundation in dance, I prioritize anatomical safety and education while finding a meditative state during a yoga practice.

I have been leading Hatha yoga for 4 years, providing individual and group practices focusing on the needs of the students. I also gently incorporate other branches of yoga into the yoga asana work as to include yoga philosophy and perspective into the practice as well.

About the lesson

I base my classes off of an understanding of yogic philosophy as well as a foundation in anatomical structures. Understanding that every body differs in structure and flexibility, I believe that all yoga postures can be modified. I focus on the immediate needs of the students, structuring classes based off of their areas for growth, strengths, and perceived weaknesses.

I encourage a welcoming environment where the physical alignment can aid the mind in achieving introspection. I am interested in physicality, but my focus is on internal aspects of individuals where the yoga practice is an opportunity to nurture vulnerability and acceptance.
