About James
I trained for 3 years as an actor at an accredited drama school. However, I couldn't help but feel somewhat held back by myself, my nerves and my aspirations. I wanted (and still want) to achieve great things within my role as a performer, so am constantly adapting to the world around me and how that relates to me as an actor. I am constantly in a state of change (as any performer should be) and I wish to share that experience with my students, to help them adapt and become the best version they can be! I have had roles professionally within TV and Stage, having learnt lessons that would have been invaluable before I started. Such lessons, I believe, can help you develop ahead of time, so you don't feel like a deer caught in the headlights!

Getting into drama school is extremely difficult and competitive. You might not know anything about it, but want to be an actor and this task can feel very intimidating. My goal is to alleviate some of that impending doom and give you the necessary skills to ace those monologues and to develop your confidence in your ability as a performer. We'll start with getting to know each other, what your background is and what your aspirations are. Then, we'll get to work. Whether it's contemporary or Shakespeare, we'll always take it slow, so we can really get to the heart of who you are as a performer and your strengths. This programme is mainly for people who want to get into Drama School, but even if you just want to try it and see what you can do, then this lesson would be perfect for you.

James has really helped me build my confidence both as a guitarist but also as an artist. I would 100% recommend James to anyone looking for a guitar tutor. It’s really special to have someone engage with you in the way he does, the perfect balance of technique, discipline and fun!
