About Greg
I've been giving lessons for 15 years. I've worked with 100s of students and I'd like to think that whatever musical path each student was on, I helped them along it. I've had students who went on to play in college and professionally and also students who played for a few years before deciding to direct energy elsewhere. I'm happy to share my experience and love of music with people no matter where they're headed.

I'm freelance musician, composer, and educator living in the vibrant musical community of Los Angeles, CA. I have 15 years of teaching experience and 8 years of professional performance experience. I teach all levels and ages, from 7 year old beginners to adults who are themselves playing and teaching professionally. I tend to tailor my approach from student to student, selecting materials and strategies that will best mesh with their goals and level of commitment. I can teach trumpet and piano basics, reading music, music theory, and jazz/improvisation. I'm pretty easy going as a teacher, and make a great fit for students who are either self-motivated or looking for a low stress approach. Not a drill master! I do recommend that my students be prepared to practice 30 minutes a day at minimum.
