Soprano Stephanie Conklin holds a Performance Diploma from Indiana University, Master of Music from Bowling Green State University and a Bachelor of Music from Indiana University.
In summer 2022, she was seen as the Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music with MIOpera. Past roles include Madame Lidoine in Dialogues of the Carmelites, Princess Ida in Princess Ida, and Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas; in recent years Stephanie has enjoyed working with the IU Opera, and Toledo Opera Choruses. A winner of the Kansas City District of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition in 2020, she has also been honoured with the J.S. Bach, Canadian Art Song, and Opera Performance awards at the Saskatchewan Music Festival, and was part of the winning duo at the 2013 Conrad Art Song Competition.
Stephanie currently lives in Indiana with her husband and three cats, and delights in working with students across genres, ages, and experience levels. She believes that music lessons are not just about a performance, but rather a journey of goal setting and habit curation, confidence building, and continuous growth.
