About Evgeny
Do you want to learn Russian quickly and have lots of fun? I am a professional educator, singer, guitar player, translator, and author. If you want to learn Russian quickly and enjoyably, my unique approach will help you start speaking Russian from the very first lesson. I teach Russian the way kids learn it: by listening, speaking, making a thousand mistakes, not worrying about them, starting again, and playing. If you work with me, you can expect lots of fun, interaction, questions, and answers—though no tedious drilling unless you prefer it. I believe that the best way to learn anything is to play. My wife and I are enthusiasts of language, literature, and culture. In the past, we hosted a book club in our apartment where we read Dostoyevsky, Dante, Tolkien, Chesterton, and more. Since 1993, I have been teaching Russian to both children and adults. I have taught all my 3 children English and Russian so they are bilingual. I have an MA in English and German from Omsk State Pedagogical University. I have played acoustic guitar for 30 years and have won contests for the best guitar accompaniment in Russia. I led Christian worship for 15 years and sang in various bands specializing in folklore and ethnic fusion for 5 years. I’ve recorded several songs, performed as a lead singer at multiple national folklore festivals, and was the lead singer and guitarist at the Berdsk Concert in 2015. With a mild low baritone, I have lots of experience singing in English, Russian, French, and Italian. (concealed information) I took vocal lessons at the VOX Vocal Studio in Omsk, Russia and sang in the Novosibirsk State University Choir.

I am a native Russian educator with MA in English and German from Omsk State Teachers Training University. I have taught all of my 3 children bilingually. I am proficient in both Russian and English. I am a professional English-Russian translator/interpreter for 23 years. I believe the best way to learn a language is to use it - every day. It has worked for me, my children, and it will work for you too!
