I am a specialist Maths Tutor (UK PGCE qualified) based in Hope Island.
A student or recent graduate is no substitute for someone who understands how to teach, how to help someone understand and how to nurture a love for the subject.
My objective is to help my students be as good at maths as they can possibly be, obtain the best grades that they can, and have as much fun as possible along the way.
My aim is always to make the study of maths interesting, relevant and enjoyable. I am a firm believer in the need to grasp the basics, and make no apology for ensuring students become fluent in the key skills before moving on to more advanced subject areas.
I have worked in local state and private schools teaching the very able, as well as those for whom maths does not come easily. Tutoring is based on an assessment of current strengths and weaknesses, linking closely with the work students are undertaking at school. Personal study tasks can be set for completion outside of tutoring, and reviewed during the following tutoring session.
I conduct my lessons at your home (local travel up to 10 minutes each way is included in my hourly rate) or via ZOOM. I already have access to Sanctuary Cove.
