About Dr Abdulkarim
Dr. Abdulkarim Mohamed is a U.K. qualified medical doctor who has worked and trained at various hospitals including the NHS Milton Keynes University Hospital, South Warwickshire University Hospital, Coventry Hospital, Stratford Hospital, The Railings and St. Andrews Psychiatric Hospital and Nuneaton University Hospital. He holds undergraduate degrees in Health Sciences focused in Biology from St. George’s University – School of Medicine, a Bachelor in Medicine and Bachelor in Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Buckingham – School of Medicine, and Premedical Diploma from the University of Oxford – St. Catherine’s College, attaining first class honors and focused his time on genetic research and gene annotations of bacteria with an academic publication for The Windref Institute of Research. Dr. Mohamed is currently completing his master's degree in Global Diplomacy and International Relations at the SOAS University of London with current involvement in the Diplomatic Corp. He is enrolled in an Executive Program in Mediation at the Harvard School of Law. He is currently relocating back to Canada and preparing for his Medical Licensing exams in Vancouver, BC. Dr. Mohamed has actively worked in the past with the University of Buckingham as a member of the Board of Senate and Council where he was elected unopposed and has contributed actively to the resource mobilization for the University council enabling them to raise funds and grants for the Vinson Centre, a £5.2 million hub for the research and study of Liberal Economics and amongst other housing and development projects for the University. He has also been a member of several societies and committees including the Royal Society of Medicine, British Medical Association, and the Academic & Surgical Society of London. He has completed various training courses in Acute Illness Management (AIMS), Advanced Life Support, Ethics & Clinical Safety, Infection Prevention and Control, Health and Safety Awareness, Information Governance, and Safeguarding for Adults and Pediatrics. Dr. Mohamed is an experienced entrepreneur currently running four successful companies involving tourism for high net worth individuals from North America, Europe, the Middle East, and the Caribbean requiring VIP and concierge services in East Africa; flower, tea, and coffee exports to markets in the Middle East, Europe, and North America; and a Kenyan distribution network dealing with Medical Supplies for COVID relief with clients such as Carrefour and Médecins Sans Frontières and private labeling products for various hospitality sectors, retail markets, and government entities. Dr. Mohamed is an active member of the Aga Khan University (AKU) Resource Development Committee East Africa (Corporate) since 2020, raising funds for the Undergraduate Medical and Nursing program, Centre for Innovation in Medical Education (CIME), Graduate School of Media and Communication, and the Cancer Clinical Research Unit in Kenya.
