About Mairi
I studied at Wits and majored in Geography and Archaeology. I then did a P.G.C.E. my teaching subjects are Geography to Grade 12 level and Grade 8 and 9 History.

I use a lot of visual and current events in my teaching to make the students engage with the content. Geography is all around us and there are always aspects related to the curriculum which are happening right now. I also try to make mapwork interesting as it is an aspect that students struggle with. I take my classes outside to do measurements and to think more practically about the calculations before relating them to a scaled map.
