About Liam
I’m Liam, a UK-qualified Humanities teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching and leading in both the UK and international schools in Dubai. I’ve worked as a Head of Humanities and Phase Leader, so I understand not just the content, but how exam standards are set and how students are assessed at the highest level.
Over the years, I’ve supported a wide range of students, from those who need help building confidence and structure, to high-achieving students aiming for 6s and 7s at IB or A/A* at A-Level. I know that every student is different, so I take the time to understand their strengths, gaps and goals before building a clear plan to help them improve.
I pride myself on being organized, reliable and honest in my feedback. I set high expectations, but I also make sure students feel supported and comfortable asking questions. My aim is not just to improve grades, but to help students think more clearly, write more confidently and approach exams with calm assurance.
Tutoring, for me, is about partnership — working together to unlock potential and make progress feel achievable.

I’m Liam, a UK-qualified Humanities teacher (QTS) with over 10 years’ experience teaching IB, GCSE and A-Level in international schools. My approach to tutoring is structured, exam-focused and tailored to each individual student. I don’t believe in simply going over content. I focus on helping students understand how examiners think, how to structure high-level essays, and how to maximize marks through clear argument, evaluation and precise use of evidence.
A typical lesson lasts 50–60 minutes and follows a clear structure: retrieval practice to reinforce prior knowledge, focused skill development (such as essay structure or command terms), guided practice using exam-style questions, and detailed feedback. I regularly use model answers, mark schemes and examiner-style commentary so students know exactly how to move from a mid-grade to a top grade.
I specialize in IB Psychology (SL & HL), A-Level Politics (AQA/Edexcel), and GCSE/IGCSE History. My experience as a former Head of Humanities means I understand curriculum progression, assessment standards and how to support students aiming for 6s and 7s at IB or A/A* at A-Level.

My lessons are ideal for students aged 15–18 preparing for IB, GCSE or A-Level exams, as well as those retaking exams or aiming to push from a good grade to an exceptional one. I also work well with motivated students who want structured guidance and clear, honest feedback.
Above all, I combine high expectations with encouragement and a bit of humor — because students perform best when they feel confident, supported and challenged.
