About Joseph
I have always enjoyed the challenge of Mathematics and the satisfaction that comes from finding a clear solution to a difficult problem. As a teacher, I particularly enjoy helping students develop that same confidence and enjoyment in the subject.
I am calm, patient and approachable, while also being ambitious for my students. I enjoy working with driven students who are willing to challenge themselves and take an active role in their learning.
Outside of teaching, I have a genuine interest in Mathematics and enjoy exploring problems that require logical and creative thinking. I bring this enthusiasm into my lesson and aim to create a positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and challenging themselves.

I am a UK-qualified Maths Teacher with a First-Class BSc in Mathematics, PGCE in Mathematics and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). I achieved A* grades in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics at A-level and have three years of full-time teaching experience in UK secondary schools.
I offer personalised online tuition to students in the UK and internationally, specialising in:
* Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics
* Edexcel GCSE Mathematics
* AQA Level 2 Further Mathematics
* AQA A-level Mathematics
My lessons are structured around developing genuine mathematical understanding, rather than simply memorising methods. I identify gaps in knowledge and address common misconceptions, explain challenging concepts clearly and use targeted practice and exam-style questions to develop
problem-solving skills, confidence and accuracy.
I work particularly well with driven students who are committed to making significant progress and achieving ambitious academic goals. Lessons are typically 60 minutes and are tailored to the individual student's needs and current level.
I have a particular interest in supporting international students following the Cambridge IGCSE and British curriculum, while also welcoming students studying UK qualifications.

Deadly! My son loves his lessons with Joseph. He leaves the lessons with a clear boost in confidence. Joseph took time to explain how lessons would be structured which helped my son calm any nerves he had so he could focus on solely the Maths. He is already excited for his next lesson!
