About Alana

I love languages and helping students to learn. I enjoy teaching and having fun in class. I understand the difficulties of learning a language, what works and what doesn't! I am also a creative person and enjoy painting, weaving, and making all kinds of art. My background is in Fine Arts.

About the lesson

I enjoy teaching young adults and adult learners. I teach by identifying areas that need improvement in the student's ability, and creating lessons to address errors/challenges. I also tailor my lessons to each individual. I base lessons on the specific interests, needs, and goals of the learner. I am a qualified ESL teacher and have worked overseas and in Australia teaching English to mostly Spanish language learners in ESL schools. I can teach all levels. Happy to help with university work, essay writing/structuring, reading, and conversation. Lessons 1-2 hours. I can also do small group lessons for a cheaper rate per person (please see rate details).

I charge $50 an hour, the same as what I would be paid to teach in a classroom. This covers the Superprof fee, additional time I use to plan your lesson and preparing materials for you.
