About Madeleine

Hi, I’m a science graduate (BSc 2:1) working in the NHS in Bristol.
All through my degree, I was fascinated by human anatomy and cell biology, especially how the body actually works behind the scenes. Over the last few years, I’ve spent a lot of time helping younger students wrap their heads around tricky topics. Most people don't struggle because science is too hard; it’s just usually taught in a dry, complicated way. My style is about keeping things logical and stripping away the fluff so the concepts make sense.
As a person, I’m chatty, friendly, and very relaxed. I really don't like stiff or stressful lessons. You learn way faster when you can just ask whatever you want without feeling silly if you get stuck.
Outside of the hospital and tutoring, I spend most of my time at the gym, grabbing coffee, or planning trips away with my friends. I bring that same normal, down to earth energy into every session.

About the lesson

I teach GCSE Science and A-Level Biology students who are feeling a bit overwhelmed by the jump in content or just want to feel genuinely confident walking into their exams.
Having recently finished my Healthcare Science degree (BSc 2:1) and started working in the NHS, I know firsthand how exhausting it is when textbooks throw walls of jargon at you. Science shouldn't feel like endless memorising, it clicks once you actually understand what’s going on.
In our lessons, we break down tricky topics into clear, everyday ideas that make sense. We also spend a lot of time on exam technique: learning what the examiners (AQA, Edexcel, OCR) actually want to see, and taking the stress out of those big 6-mark questions.
Sessions run for an hour online, and the vibe is completely relaxed and zero-pressure, no question is a silly question. We work through past papers on a virtual whiteboard together, and I’ll send over all our notes as soon as we finish so you’ve got them to revise from.
