About Zak

I am a young, recent graduate of The Ohio State University where I received my Master's degree for Materials Science and Engineering. I had previously gotten my Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics from Ohio University, graduating at the very top of my class. I have always been a very social person, so not your typical academic!

About the lesson

I truly believe the best way to teach something (especially notoriously "rigorous" subjects) is by getting on the students' level. In particular, communicating in a way that is relatable, rather than more "administrative", always results in a better outcome. These lessons are for anyone who wants to improve in the areas of math and science.

Deadly! Zak does an excellent job of breaking Calculus concepts down into more manageable pieces. For many of us, myself included, differentiation and integration rules were topics hammered into our heads by rote memorization; Zak has enabled me to think outside the box and understand Calculus at a deeper level where memorizing tables of methods isn't really necessary anymore.
Working with Zak has greatly improved my confidence, and I am now much better equipped to handle more complex math courses in the future.

Deadly! Zak is a great tutor and explains everything step by step. He likes to show you the behind the scenes of a problem instead of jumping in to the solution. He makes sure I understand the concepts and explains anything I ask. Definitely recommend him as a tutor! Btw: He is teaching me Calc 1. (Just for reference)
