About António

As a recorder player, he has played what has been his instrument of choice since he was 6 years old. Since his studies in the conservatory, he has shown his versatility as a musician, either as an instrumentalist, performer or composer.

He has specialised training in interpreting historical repertoire (pre-19th century). Currently, he studies medieval and renaissance music at Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (Basel, Switzerland), one of the most renowned institutions for teaching early music internationally.

Although a young musician, he already has substantial stage experience, both nationally and internationally, as a soloist, including some recognition in competitions (Amsterdam, 2015; Funchal, 2017) and in groups (Capella Invicta, Camerata Bestiale).

More recently, he also dedicated himself to the study of the historical cornet, an instrument that is currently hardly played in Portugal.
When he has free time, he can't help but cling to a keyboard (or any other instrument he can get his hands on), go to a jazz jam session, or write his own music.

About the lesson

I believe that each one has their own path, marked by their motivations, goals and their learning pace. I see in my role as a tutor the obligation to adapt to what is the individuality of each student, without haste, in a relaxed and personal environment.
Besides being a student and a professional musician, I am a music lover. I work with great pleasure not only with music students (from beginners to final grade) but with amateurs as well, with or without formal education.
