About Noah
The first steps I took in my professional career, on an actuarial path, were enabled by my mathematics knowledge and understanding. I also developed a great enthusiasm for computer programming, which many computer scientists consider a branch of applied mathematics. This led me to pursue a master's degree in computer science, which helped me deepen my understanding and problem-solving ability in software engineering. And the focus of my software career was in financial services, which makes use of advanced techniques in applied mathematics. In short, mathematics has been an avocation for me, as well as the foundation of my vocation as a computer programmer. Before retiring, I spent a couple of years teaching high school mathematics. I hope to help students of any age get more comfortable in their understanding of, and appreciation for, the power and beauty of math.

As a lifelong professional and recreational mathematician, I've learned the myriad ways mathematics underlies so many different subjects. From computer science and programming, to engineering, to the physical and biological sciences, a strong foundation in mathematics is invaluable to technical careers. My goal is to help students develop a deep understanding of challenging mathematical topics so they can be more qualified for interesting and lucrative careers.
