About Lewis

I am a Rose Bruford trained professional actor, writer and director based in Manchester. I have a range of experience from National Tours of comedies and dramas, Local Tours of self-written Children’s Theatre as well as immersive work.
I have a great passion for young people, knowing myself that all it took was one person to truly believe in me to get me where I am today.
In the last year I have worked with a young company as their director, devising a show ‘that we took to the Edinburgh Fringe festival and received 5* reviews and sold out shows and have also worked young people all around the UK delivering theatre workshops.

I am a fun, knowledgeable and engaging tutor with years of knowledge and genuine passion for meeting new people and helping young people achieve their dreams. I know first hand how hard and ruthless this industry can be, so I want to be a helping hand to getting your foot in the door, be someone you can come to with anxieties about the industry and someone you’re not afraid to share your passions and goals with.

About the lesson

Lessons will be tailored to the needs of the student, our first session will be about setting goals and discussing how best we can achieve them together as a team. Lessons will be an hour long (half an hour for first consultation) and will be a fun, calm yet engaging and challenging session to get the best out of you and help you achieve your goals and dreams.

Drama School Prep:
- Years in the industry, as well as auditioning and going to drama school has given me the skills needed to know what panels are looking for.

- I have also sat on audition panels for self-written productions and as part of casting teams so have seen both sides of the audition room.

- These sessions will be based around what makes you stand out, picking the perfect monologue and how to establish yourself as a unique brand.

- Following sessions will be based around working on the monologue, focusing on specific techniques to ensure vocal and physical skill as well as mock interviews to fully prepare you for what the panel may ask.

LAMDA Preparation:
- After completing Drama School training as well as working with young people in directorial and facilitation roles I know how to get the best out of young people in relation to acting.

- These sessions will be based around the LAMDA Syllabus and Specs, as well as around the reindeer themselves.
- Sessions will always begin with a warm-up to ensure readiness and a cool down and reflection at the end.

- We will look at specific techniques, focusing on how to use our face, voice and body in response to the text, ensuring we create a sense of reality in the character and use these skills to realise the demands of the text

-We will look deeply at the text, exploring the social and historical context of the scene/ play as well as its place in the wider text.
