About Renae

Hi, I'm Renae. I'm a Savile Row trained couturier specialising in bespoke women's evening wear and wedding dresses. I've got 7 years' experience working in the fashion industry creating for global brands such as David's Bridal, White Rose Bridal, Kosebia Creations and English Rose. I graduated from the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) with a BA in Fashion Atelier, which trained me in couture designing and construction, bespoke tailoring and creative pattern cutting. I now run my own Atelier where we design and create luxury made-to-measure wedding dresses and evening wear; which is my true passion. I also run fashion design workshops at Derby University and privately. My love for running fashion workshops comes from my passion for seeing people in their creative element. I truly believe that every human on earth is creative, and they just need to find the right way of channelling their creativity. I aim to help you find your creative identity and put you on the path to unlocking your creative potential through my classes.

About the lesson

I'm offering private 1 to 1 fashion design and sewing classes run from my home based in Uxbridge, London or online classes. Lessons are tailored to your individual needs and abilities. ALL LEVELS OF EXPERIENCE AND ALL AGES ARE WELCOME. My classes cover: SEWING: - introduction on how to use a sewing machine - basic sewing techniques - garment construction: how to make a dress - couture finishing (e.g. French seams, pin hems etc.) - couture sewing techniques PATTERN CUTTING: - drafting patterns from measurements - altering readymade patterns - creative pattern cutting COUTURE CORSETRY: - introduction to corsetry - corset making - structuring of corsets - corsetry finishing techniques FASHION DESIGN SKILLS: - concept building - design development - brand analysis TAILORING TECHNIQUES: - fabric analysis - hand sewing and pad stitching - hand finishings (buttonholes) - collars and lapels

Deadly! Renae has been helping me for 2 years now with all skills including pattern cutting, bespoke tailoring methods, career advice and much more. She is very nice, caring and tries her best to help in all areas related to fashion.
