About Jo
Experienced science teacher of all 3 sciences, specialising originally in physics. I have worked with OCR and AQA and have marked physics papers for AQA for over 10 years. This gives me a huge insight into what the examiners are looking for from students and I have a range of tips that are invaluable. I love teaching science, especially physics and when a student gets a light bulb moment of understanding or asks an awesome question it still gives me the same joy as it did when I first started teaching more than 17 years ago! I am a massive science geek and will endeavour to encourage that in all my students. Life would be incredibly dull without it and everyone would feel happier if they embrace their inner geek

I still teach in a wonderful school in the south west of England. My classes range from year 7 to year 11 and I am also the deputy head of the science department. This means I am always looking at new strategies to support learners and inspire a love of the subject as well as being organised and efficient at what I do. I use a variety of methods to teach science and have learnt that every student is different and needs a specific approach tailored to them if they are to be the most successful that they can be.
