About Andrew
Hi, I’m Andrew! I am a 2nd year medical student at UCL. I studied Biology at A level and achieved A*, and achieved 10 9’s at GCSE. Throughout my time at school, I grew a passion for Biology. I not only want to support my students in getting high grades but also pass on my love for the subject. Having excelled at Biology at GCSE and A level, securing the top grade at both levels, as well as studying some of the topics in depth in my degree, I am comfortable with teaching complex concepts with the help of diagrams and visual aids where needed, helping students overcome any problem topics. Furthermore, having achieved a distinction in grade 8 singing and a 9 in Russian GCSE, both done out of school, I have developed a strong work ethic and my independent learning ability; through this, I want to help my students improve these skills for themselves.

Our free first lesson will be used to find the student’s needs and their problem topics, after which I will design hour-long lessons that start by explaining these highlighted topics and concepts. We will follow the exam specifications to ensure full understanding of these topics in preparation for exams. From there, we will consolidate what we’ve learned by working through exam-style questions for the rest of the lesson. I will set a few past paper questions to further consolidate knowledge and check them before the next lesson, looking at the student’s technique and giving feedback in the next lesson.
