About Molly

I am a rising high school senior planning to double major in Premed and Mathematics on a neurosurgical path. I attend an arts high school in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I have danced my whole life, and thought I would end up pursuing a career in dance until the beginning of my Junior year. I started to get extremely interested in neurology and neurosurgery. I learned everything I possibly could about the field of medicine and found myself more and more intrigued. Before my junior year, I was never much of an academic student. I didn't put all of my effort into my studies and often was looked as the person who would never go to college, and just end up a professional dancer. I felt very looked down upon in studies and was never confident in my abilities as a student. When I chose to take extremely challenging courses as a junior, I immediately knew that I could not imagine my life as a dancer. I loved learning and found myself in a new world of studies. Though, I've never been an insane scholar, I was always strongest at maths and sciences. Math always seemed fun and complicated to me, which I loved. I was surprisingly ahead of the game in my math studies, being in AP Stats and Precalculus as a sophomore. I decided to take AP Calculus AB my junior year and found my pure love for math. I started out pretty rough but got help from my teacher and other peers. By the end of this year, I finished the class with a new understanding of math and myself. I am so privileged to love math, since it's a heck of a hard subject! I want to help other students who like me, struggle with school and want to gain skills and confidence. I'm now more excited than ever for whatthe future of my learning holds and would love to help others to feel the same way.

I am a kinesthetic learner that has always been passionate about adjusting my learning environment and tactics to fit my personal learning abilities. Learning and memorization can be challenging for some, and for others it can come natural. As a high school student who has dealt with an extreme load of stress, and has had to work with my own learning struggles, I am confident to say I can help you adjust your learning habits to best fit your needs.
I am a strong Math student who completed Precalculus and AP Statistics my Sophomore year, Calculus AB my Junior year, and am now starting my AP Calculus BC journey throughout my Senior year. I am also a very strong Psychology student who competed Honors Psychology my Sophomore year, and AP Psychology my Junior year.
What sets me apart from most tutors is my dedication and understanding demeanor. Most peer tutors I know have never struggled with learning and memorization. To be a tutor usually indicates you are naturally inclined academically. As someone who has never been naturally academic steered, I had to work extremely hard to be where I am today. As a tutor, I understand the challenge of academic work and why it can be harder for some people. I'm passionate about helping fellow peers and building academic confidence! As for my lesson plans go, I usually like to talk with the student I will be helping to plan accordingly to time flexibility, learning type, and subject. I'm open to any ideas students bring and want you to feel comfortable when working with me. I tutor middle and high school students struggling with math, and a select few struggling with Psychology.
