About Animesh

I am a Computer Science graduate and former Senior Software Engineer who has spent the better part of a decade building software, running businesses, and solving complex problems professionally. I am currently completing my MBA at Manchester Business School, where I hold a Merit Scholarship — so alongside tutoring, I am very much still a student myself. I know what it feels like to sit across from a difficult problem and not know where to start.

I grew up in India, where I tutored school students through to Standard 10 — the equivalent of GCSE level here in the UK. Teaching has always come naturally to me. I am patient, I explain things clearly, and I do not move on until something genuinely makes sense. I have found that most students who struggle with Maths or Computer Science are not lacking ability — they are missing one or two foundational pieces that nobody has taken the time to properly address. Finding and fixing those gaps is something I enjoy.

My professional background means I bring real-world context to everything I teach. I have used algebra, logic, and programming in commercial settings every day for years. I know not just how these subjects work in a textbook, but why they matter and where they actually show up in the real world. Students tend to find that grounding genuinely useful.

I am reliable, and fully committed to every student I work with. Whether you are building confidence from scratch or pushing for a strong GCSE grade, I will take your progress seriously.

I have been working with numbers, logic, and code professionally for over five years — as a Senior Software Engineer, as a startup founder, and now as an MBA student at Manchester Business School. I did not just study these subjects; I have used them to build real things. That is the perspective I bring into every lesson.

My approach:

I start by understanding where the student actually is, not where they should be. Before introducing anything new, I make sure the foundations are genuinely solid — because most difficulties in Maths and Computer Science trace back to a gap somewhere earlier. I use real-world examples wherever possible: algebra shows up in budgets, logic is the backbone of every app you use, programming is just structured problem-solving. Making that connection is usually when things start to click.

Sessions are typically 60 minutes. I spend the first few minutes reviewing what the student found difficult since we last met, work through new material at a pace that suits them, and close with practice problems so I can see what has landed. If something is not working, we try a different angle — I do not move on until it makes sense.

Who I teach:

I work with students up to GCSE level — equivalent to Standard 10 in India, where I have previously tutored. Whether you are an 11-year-old building confidence in Maths, a Year 10 student preparing for GCSEs, or someone who just wants to understand how computers actually work — I can help. I am comfortable with complete beginners and students who just need to fill specific gaps.

Subjects:

Maths (Algebra, Number, Logic and Reasoning) and Computer Science (introductory programming, computational thinking, GCSE level). All lessons are in English.
