About Sierra
I am a Social Studies Education Major studying to be a high school teacher. I’m skilled in all areas of social studies including History, Economics, Geography, Government, and Psychology. I have worked with children for 10+ years as a nanny and have tutored for 5+ years, building my skills to become an excellent teacher. I have student taught at two middle schools and a high school.

My goal is to educate the next generation to help change the future for the better. Social Studies is a special subject that can be used to educate students on life skills and valuable world knowledge. It also creates a safe space for conversations about difficult subjects like race, gender, class, discrimination, politics, power, and inclusivity. I am trained in classroom management, education strategies, and specialize in teaching Integrated Services students with special needs. The skill I am most proud of is the relationships I can build with students to create an environment of love, acceptance, and a place to grow safely together.
