About Hamza
I enjoy learning about latest cures for disease, and groundbreaking technologies in science and medicine. From learning about genetic engineering to using AI in biology and medicine. Outside of studies though I’m just any other student. I am a senior lifeguard at my local swimming pool as I enjoy lifesaving and am good under pressure. I’m your average gym bro. I love cars, motorbikes, and camping. And the occasional call of duty as well to wind down from all that :) One day I would love to be an emergency medicine doctor going in helicopters to adrenaline filled emergency situations where patients are on the edge of life, to save people with all the science and skills I learnt in GCSE, A Level and Uni.

Science topics can be hard to conceptualise, so I use visuals, analogies and put topics into context to help students get a better picture of a topic. It can be hard to remember everything even if you understand a topic, so I help students learn and memorise with techniques like active recall and spaced repetition with the use of flashcards, past paper questions, mind mapping and more. To help students stay on top of their knowledge, I set various types of homework depending on the topic. It may be best to make a poster if the topic is more abstract, or past paper questions if it’s a topic that needs practice to be mastered. Lessons are typically 1 hour for students from year 9 to 11. I have experience teaching year 9/10/11 students in secondary school of ranging abilities as well as extensive research in teaching techniques and methods. I am currently a university student doing a Bachelor of Science at Monash University. I was a student doing GCSEs. Myself going from 3s and 4s to 8s and 9s in all my GCSE subjects. I understand the difficulties that students go through when studying and so adjust my teaching for every type of learner.
