About Jabir
I started university as a Mathematics and Statistics student, but learned that my passion for Maths lies with its applications in the real world! Now, I'm an Engineering student passionate about learning beyond the curriculum. With a keen interest in problem solving, I participated in both the UKMT Maths Challenges and the AS Physics Olympiad. Having achieved A*A*AB at A-level, with A*/A grades at GCSE, learning has always been something I'm fond of. But what do I mean, learning beyond the curriculum?
I'm a self-taught programmer, having competed in national competitions and conducted a series of projects, from automated plant watering systems to black hole simulations. All of this was alongside studying for my exams at school, demonstrating my efforts in pursuing academic interests.
I feel that having academic passions beyond studying is necessary for a tutor, as it proves we can and will go the extra mile to ensure you understand the topics at hand! I'm also an avid Squash player, and a black-tag belt in Taekwondo.

My approach to teaching ensures an understanding of the concept at hand, linking with prior concepts you've learned in your course, strengthening your knowledge in a number of topics. Alongside this, I take the time to go through mark schemes with you to see what your exam board expects of you.
Lessons are typically 30-90 minutes, teaching primarily GCSE and A-level Maths and Further Maths content.
Originally a tutor for fellow students at my high school in Maths and Computer Science, I also tutored students at local high schools whilst studying for my A-levels, helping them prepare for GCSE Maths and Physics.
