I was lucky enough to be Penelope's colleague at the grammar school in London where she was teaching chemistry to KS3, GCSE and A-level students. Penelope has an incredible and passionate subject knowledge and is able to clearly explain difficult concepts to any age and any level of existing knowledge. She is highly organised and efficient and always produced high results from her classes, who all had a great deal of respect for her. I can't recommend her highly enough as a chemistry tutor!

From observing Penelope's lessons as a member of school staff, I can confidently say that her students were engaged, attentive and most importantly, enthusiastic about her lessons.
Penelope is patient with students and will take time to explain concepts in a way that is easily understandable (even to someone like me with no background knowledge of chemistry!). She is kind and warm, which helped foster a passion for chemistry in many of her students. Many of the students who were taught by her at lower school went on to achieve highly at GCSE, and many of her GCSE students went on to study Chemistry at A-Level, successfully entering their universities of choice.
Another one of her key strengths is her discipline and organisation; she consistently has high expectations for her students and strives to ensure that they meet their full potential, showing dedication by using her free time during the school day to speak to students who needed extra support. Her high expectations also extended to behaviour; students in her class were well behaved and showed a real respect for her as a teacher, which led to an effective teaching and learning environment.
Penelope's standards of teaching will no doubt extend to her work as a tutor. I truly believe that students will thrive with Penelope as their chemistry tutor.
