I'm an ex-teacher, qualified to teach Biology up to A level. I've got the experience knowledge and resources to help you at all levels, but above all, I'm pretty normal! I taught all ages and abilities for 13 years until I had my children 3 years ago.
I'd like to think I'm relaxed and encouraging. No question is too silly, too basic, or too small. I have been teaching for a long time and have the experience to break topics down to the key concepts and then build on these and extend your knowledge and understanding.
I am a highly experienced teacher, always delivering 'Outstanding' (rated by OFSTED) classroom lessons. In addition to my classroom experience I have been an exam marker for Edexcel for the 3 years, marking GSCE exams and historically SATS papers. This enables me to deliver lessons that are directed to improve grades and look at exam technique. Particularly important for those on grade boundaries.
I would happily advise on coursework pieces and help support development of ideas.

To parents of younger students: I was Head of Lower School, specifically in charge of Y7, including monitoring and supporting academic and pastoral development. In addition to my subject knowledge and high level teaching, I am very experienced in working one-to-one (though previously face to face) with students who have lost confidence or are particularly shy to speak out in a whole class setting. I also have experience of working with school refusers and (historically) pupils accessing home and hospital tuition.
