About Jaya

Hello, my name is Jaya! I am a third-year Dental student and I am really looking forward to helping you become more confident in Biology and achieve the best grades you can. I am a patient, friendly and approachable tutor, and I am passionate about helping students understand Biology and enjoy the subject along the way.

I achieved an A* in Biology at A Level and have been tutoring students for nearly two years. Through my experience, I have learnt how important it is to adapt lessons to each student's individual needs, whether that means breaking down difficult topics, working through exam questions or focusing on exam technique. I really enjoy seeing my students become more confident in their abilities and watching their progress over time.

My aim is to create a supportive and comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions and are able to reach their full potential. Whether you are looking to improve your grades, prepare for exams or simply feel more confident with Biology, I would love to help you achieve your goals!

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is to make Biology engaging, straightforward and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I understand that students learn in different ways, so I adapt my teaching style depending on their strengths, weaknesses and goals.

I typically begin by identifying areas the student finds challenging and then break these topics down into simple, manageable explanations. I use diagrams, examples, active recall and exam-style questions to help students understand concepts rather than simply memorising them. I also place a strong emphasis on exam technique, helping students understand exactly what examiners are looking for and how to structure their answers to maximise marks.

Lessons are usually 60 minutes long, although I can be flexible depending on the student’s needs. I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

I am currently a third-year Dental student and achieved an A* in Biology. I have nearly two years of tutoring experience and have worked with students at both GCSE and A Level. My experience as a tutor, alongside my ongoing studies in Dentistry, has given me a strong understanding of Biology and the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly.

My lessons are suitable for GCSE and A Level Biology students, and I can support students with learning new topics, revising for exams, improving exam technique or preparing for specific assessments.
