About Emaan

I love helping students gain confidence in topics they have previously struggled with and seeing their exam anxiety soothed.

I have done a lot of research into effective learning techniques and my own experiences at GCSE and A-Levels taught me the 'rights' and 'wrongs' of revision, which allowed me to achieve the grades I did. Achieving 3A*s taught me a lot more than just how to 'get the grades' but also skills regarding time management and organisation which I believe is the secret!

This has only been emphasised by my time at medical school which has taught me how to use platforms and revisions resources to optimise my time and ensure all the work I do is of sound quality and is most importantly productive.

These are all skills I am keen to share with my students as well as that 'pep talk' sometimes needed in the frenzy of academic pressure!

About the lesson

I ensure students communicate with me their goals so we can have a long term aim. However, we will create our own short-term goals too, making sure the process isn't too daunting for the student and their goals become achievable in a realistic way.

I will use effective methods to help students understand difficult information, such as coding the information in different ways. This will be supplemented by facilitated space repetition, an effective method for recall essential for high performance in exams. Most importantly, we will gradually familiarise ourselves with exam papers and practice exam technique in the critical period leading up until exams.

Lessons will usually last 1 hour.

I am a third year medical student, who has experience tutoring at both GCSE and A-Level standard.
