About John
After graduating from the Eastman School of Music in 2012, I've spent my career playing with some of the very best musicians around me- in NYC that was GRAMMY winner Jonathan Batiste and Jazz music, from Nashville it was GRAMMY winner Sarah Jarosz and folk/americana music, and now in Los Angeles with GRAMMY-winning artists such as the Watkins Family Hour, Jackson Browne, and Madison Cunningham. As I settle in towards family life in LA I look to build a private teaching studio and give back to my community through teaching serious music students.

I believe that having depth in the simple elements of drumming is the key to unlocking all the most complex proficiency in the instrument. I focus on meeting a student where they can succeed, and helping them have a positive and energizing relationship with music. From the most complex jazz approaches to the simplest rock beat, there is depth and nuance to be found and enjoyed, and my goal is to help foster a love of music while growing as a drummer. I am a good fit for beginners who are serious about a relationship with the drums, to the most advanced students.
