About Lorenzo

Having studied piano performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, I not only have an in-depth knowledge of the instrument but an understanding of wider music theory, necessary to explore the improvisational and compositional pathways.

Though I am classically trained I am proficient in a variety of other styles, such as jazz, rock and blues. I have had experience in playing live in both big band and a jazz trio, developing an understanding of the dynamics of group playing and gaining familiarity in the practical application of music theory.

I have seven years of one-to-one music tutoring experience, both with children and adult students. The way I teach is tailored to each individual student and will change depending on what the learner's goal is. Be it getting through those exams or simply improving their musical knowledge and ability, I will be able to make the journey fun and immersive.

About the lesson

I specialise in one to one tutoring because it allows me to tailor each lesson to the individual's needs. I can offer lessons that will lead to the student taking an exam directly as I know the requirements for all the piano grades. If exams are not the objective but to learn the instrument or just to improve I will simply help with whichever area the student would like to work on.
On the whole lessons will consist of technical work, such as scales and arpeggios, music theory which leads to compositional techniques, sight reading and of course pieces.

Andrea is a warm and welcoming person, it was a pleasure to give lessons at their home. Brandon (student) is a bright and energetic child who works well when he puts his mind to it. My advice, as said in person, is simply more determination to get the task at hand done. An optimistic attitude to practice can go a long way!
