About Joshua
I am currently a first-year student studying Politics, Philosophy, and Economics at the University of Oxford. I am on course to achieve a first-class grade in my upcoming examinations. At A-level, I achieved an A* in Maths, Economics, and Music, and at GCSE I achieved nine 9s, one 8, and one 7.
I have been a tutor for one year, tutoring two primary school children in Maths, English, and Reasoning. I find that tutoring one-on-one or in small groups is the most effective way to learn, and I thoroughly enjoy seeing my students prosper in this environment. I always look to take my students beyond what they believe that they are capable of.

I have over 100 hours of experience tutoring in person, and from this experience, I have found that the most effective way for students to improve is through engaged practice.
My lessons are focused in this way; I will walk the student through a particular method or topic before allowing them to attempt questions themselves and offering constructive hints when they are stuck. This also enables me to quickly gauge the level of a student and provide further help and questions most suitable for them.
My lesson time is flexible and adaptable to the individual needs of each student. I am happy teaching any level from KS1 up to GCSE level.
