About William
I am a reliable and enthusiastic tutor with a strong academic background in History and Economics. Having studied at Eton College and now pursuing these subjects at undergraduate level, I understand both the academic demands students face and the techniques needed to succeed. Alongside academics, I am also a qualified sailing coach and have worked as a rowing coach, experiences which have strengthened my leadership, communication, and mentoring skills. I aim to create lessons that are focused, approachable, and well organised, helping students gain confidence alongside stronger results. Whether preparing for GCSEs, A-Levels, or entrance examinations, I encourage students to think independently and develop effective study habits in a supportive and professional environment.

I take a structured but adaptable approach to tutoring, tailoring each lesson to the student’s goals, confidence, and learning style. I focus on building strong conceptual understanding through clear explanations, active discussion, and regular exam-style practice. Lessons are typically 30–60 minutes long and designed to be engaging, challenging, and supportive. As an undergraduate studying History and Economics, and a former student of Eton College, with national-level sporting achievements and leadership experience, I bring discipline, communication skills, and academic rigour to my teaching. My lessons are suitable for students aged 11–18, including GCSE, A-Level, and scholarship preparation.
