About Sophie

My name is Sophie, and I am in my penultimate year of BA Jurisprudence at the University of Oxford. My area of interest is Public Law, and I enjoy seeing the interconnection between law and policy. A-level Politics was my favourite subject at school, and much of what I learnt still translates into what I do today. I enjoy tutoring because I want to make a real impact on people’s lives. This is also why I wanted to study Law. Looking at things from a different perspective can be super helpful, and this is how I would describe my own approach. I like the flexibility of private tutoring because you can change the resources and methods you rely on when necessary. My favourite part of being a tutor however is helping people realise their ambitions and watching their confidence grow as lessons progress.

About the lesson

My prior experience in tutoring and wider experience in childcare makes me well equipped to tutor those of all ages. I am extremely reliable and enjoy tailoring my approach to tutoring where this will benefit students. I have a large resource bank due to my experience, which I will deploy accordingly. My flexible schedule allows me to work around others, and I strive to help all my students meet and exceed their goals. Lessons can happen as frequently as desired, and we can amend our targets where appropriate to ensure you get where you need to be. My approach combines high expectations and support, mistakes are learnt from and progress is praised.

Deadly! Sophie is an amazing tutor who plans every lesson according to my requests and makes sure that I understand each topic we cover in depth. Sana is extremely attentive and asks all the right questions. She is very knowledgeable and clearly listens closely. Moreover, her self-awareness is a strength for her- she knows which aspects of the specification she is confident on, and which areas require some more work.
