About Indigo

I graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2022 having studied History MA (Hons). I graduated with a 2:1, 67 average, and got 70 in my dissertation. I'm currently working and undertaking the ACA qualification, having completed 12/15 exams so far.

I got three A's at A-Level in History, Geography and Maths as well as a D3 in English Pre-U. I also have an A in AS English as I did this a year early. For my GCSE's I got eight A*s and one A.

During my time at school, I tutored students in years 7-9 Maths and English, and conducted private tutoring lessons for GCSE subjects including History, Geography, English and Maths as well. I have also been a Swimming Teacher for three years, teaching children aged 3-17 and so have a lot of experience working with different ages. I have also done babysitting for 8-12 year olds previously.

I am friendly, understanding and very organised, and would put my all into any tutoring.

About the lesson

I believe that schools do not, and can not, always cater to each student's needs in terms of teaching style, and so in my first lesson with each student I would start with an open conversation and how they think they learn best, and go on to test a few methods to see what works for us both. After each lesson I would give some work for them to do in their own time before we next week, as I think it is important to check the student can continue to understand and make improvements without needing someone there. My teaching style also depends on the age of the student, being more serious with older students, and coming up with more attention-grabbing activities for younger people.
