About Arran
I am a Mathematics and Computer Science student at the University of Birmingham, currently working towards my Master’s degree. I have a strong academic background, achieving A*AA at A-level, and nearly three years of experience supporting students in Maths.
I am patient, approachable, and genuinely enjoy helping students understand topics they previously found difficult. I find it especially rewarding seeing students grow in confidence as their understanding improves.
I take a calm and supportive approach, aiming to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My goal is not just to improve grades, but to help students develop confidence and independent problem-solving skills that will benefit them long term.

I offer GCSE and KS3 Maths lessons designed to improve both understanding and exam performance. With nearly 3 years of tutoring experience, I focus on helping students build confidence and achieve higher grades through clear, structured teaching.
A typical lesson begins by identifying gaps in understanding, followed by step-by-step explanations and guided practice. I then reinforce learning through exam-style questions, helping students develop strong exam technique and avoid common mistakes.
My lessons are tailored to each student’s level and learning style, whether they are struggling with core topics or aiming for top grades. I have helped students improve from grade 5 to 7–8 through targeted support and consistent practice.
Lessons are usually one hour, interactive, and focused on steady progress. My goal is to ensure students not only improve their grades but also feel confident approaching Maths independently.
