About Stephen
Hi! I am currently a postdoctoral assistant professor of mathematics at the University of Michigan. I’ve taught precalculus, calculus, and multivariable/vector calculus at UMich, and have been passionate about teaching since I began tutoring as an undergraduate back in 2010. I completed my PhD in mathematics at the University of British Columbia in 2022, where I also earned master's degrees in both mathematics and physics. In 2024–25, I was honored to receive a teaching award (an IBL Fellowship) from UMich, recognizing my dedication to helping students learn deeply and think critically. Whether you're looking for support in algebra, precalculus, calculus, or SAT/ACT math, or want to explore higher-level topics like linear algebra, topology, or geometry, I’d be happy to help! I tailor sessions to each student’s goals and aim to make abstract concepts feel clear and approachable. Feel free to reach out—I’d love to help you build confidence and success in math!
