About Kieran
I am a professional musician, composer and recording artist, trained in musical performance, Kodaly aural method and currently studying a masters of teaching. I have been playing string instruments since I was seven (that's 21 years) and gig regularly in Perth's jazz scene.

My teaching methodology is based upon a sound before sign approach, using singing and aural approaches to ground music theory in an experiential basis: while music reading is an important skill, it must be based upon recognition of the sounds and patterns of music, in order to prevent the act of music from merely being by an exersize in "button pushing".
