About Garry
I started my career as an Electrician, Technical Officer and finally ended up in Information Technology following my passions for computing. WHAT HAS THAT GOT TO DO WITH PHOTOGRAPHY!!!
During my entire life, since my father was capturing images with his Canon SLR, I was drawn to photography. In fact, while pursuing my career I was also capturing Weddings, Portraits, Families and Events.
So with my IT background I was hanging out for an affordable DSLR technology to come forth, and bought my first in 2004, a Canon 10D. I have never shot with film again. I have owned many Canon cameras including 2 Canon 5D MkIII's and a few lenses. I now mainly shoot with Olympus OMD MkII cameras, which suit my style of photography.
My business "Twisted Lane" is a mainly Wedding and Portrait based business. With my experience I also take Events and Families.
I also have a passion for Landscapes with my own unique flair.

I have been teaching people for years, in IT and Photography, where my philosophy is to train by practical example after direction. If you are just listening or reading stuff, it's hard to remember stuff. The saying goes, "What goes through one hear goes out the other". In fact in you don't practically apply what you have learnt by the time you go to sleep, most of it will be lost. So get out there and shoot straight away.
Teaching starts by understanding your experience.
I will take you on a journey of understanding from the basics, composition and editing.
You will go from an opportunistic shooter, to one where the shot you are after is prepared for to get the artistic and unique shot that you were after. Developing your style takes time, let's go on that journey together.
