About Matt
I have just moved to Bishop's Stortford with my family, and I cannot wait to make a positive impact on my new community. I enjoy cooking, travel, spending time with my two cats, and I have always loved teaching. I was a classroom teacher in America, and managed a tuition centre in Australia. Now I'm excited to be permanently based in England.

I love teaching, and making a positive impact on those around me. I always provide empathetic, individualised support to my students, meeting them exactly where they are and patiently taking them to the next level. My students gain skills, confidence, and the belief that they can handle any challenge that comes their way.
I know how stressful a time high school can be for so many students. Every child is unique, and has his or her own needs.
For many students, maths feels incredibly overwhelming and causes a lot of anxiety. These students need individualised help to reset and to believe in themselves again. I’ll fill the gaps in your child’s fundamental knowledge, explain current school topics to ensure they don’t fall further behind, and help with revision before tests.
It’s also a common experience for kids to begin to struggle in maths, around this time even though they were always really successful in primary school. It can be a shock to their confidence, especially when unhappy test results begin to occur. This student simply needs some extra support as the material continues to increase in difficulty. I’ll teach better note taking and revision skills as well, so that your child is set up for independent success.
