About Rachel

I have been teaching English for over 25 years now, first starting out teaching English in Japan after I graduated from university. I really know what it is like to learn a foreign language (I’ve learned a few, but I had to learn to use Japanese to communicate while I lived there), which I think is very important as a language teacher because I can understand how my students feel. It’s not easy! I have taught English in Australia for about 20 years to many different nationalities, which I absolutely love. I have also taught Japanese to Australian students. I am a teacher trainer, which means I have taught the Certificate IV in TESOL, teaching and training people to become English teachers. I have worked as an academic manager for about 8 years, which involves managing, training, and supporting teachers as well as academic counseling for students and overseeing classes. I love teaching all levels of English from elementary classes to advanced classes and work for a wonderful school in Australia with students from all over the world. I am very experienced in teaching TOEIC and Cambridge Exam preparation courses (PET, FCE, and CAE). I also teach IELTS and PTE exam preparation and proofread and edit essays or any written text. I think online teaching and learning is fantastic as I can teach people from all over the world, and I’m looking forward to meeting you! My qualifications: • Bachelor of Arts (Languages) – The University of Adelaide • Graduate Certificate in TESOL – Bond University • Diploma of TESOL • Cert IV in Workplace & Training

About the lesson

I am very flexible, and with my experience, I like to teach according to what my students need. I like to make my lessons enjoyable but also make sure my students are always learning. I can tailor lessons easily to meet the learning goals of my students.
