About Cole
I've been playing guitar for 6 years with my primary genres being blues, rock, and folk. I know a lot about these genres and have even taken some college-level courses on their histories. I've played in and opened for some bands around my hometown and I post guitar content on social media that includes covers and original compositions. Anything that you see me play on my social media I am confident I can teach effectively and clearly to anyone willing to put the time and effort to learn it.
There's a lot of misinformation about guitar online and many teachers that purposely try to teach things as slowly as possible to get as many lessons as they can out of their students. This is not the way I do things. I obviously will teach at whatever pace is most comfortable for you, but I will make sure to give you enough content to keep you satisfied and make you feel like you are progressing.
If there is a certain style or technique you want to learn that I may not be familiar with, I will simply disclose that and refer you to a different teacher. I'm not here to waste your time or money.

If you're a complete beginner who is picking up the instrument for the first time or an intermediate player looking for some guidance on a specific technique or style of playing, my lessons may be for you.
I can teach a variety of different guitar techniques including travis picking/fingerpicking, hybrid picking, string bending, slide guitar, etc.
As your teacher, I will ask if there are any specific songs or styles you would like to focus on (rhythm playing, lead guitar, or any of the things mentioned above). If not I can just guide you through new material and music theory based on your skill level.
With any song that I teach you, I will explain how to play it, but I also will ask if you want to know the music theory at play in the song. I think it's beneficial to know how what you're playing "works" musically to improve as a player.
