About
I call Geometry the 'Fun Math" because it can do so many things and using all the various tools and manipulatives can be very enjoyable! Yes, there is a lot of material covered in Geometry, and sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming, but with a few organization skills and some good habits, you can be successful and master it! I have helped many feel good and be successful at it over my 18 plus years of teaching in the public school.

I like to focus on the vocabulary of Geometry, what it means, looks like and does. I also use manipulatives and drawings to visualize what is happening so that it all can be put together to make sense and solve problems.
We would begin by finding out what is being missed and what is confusing. Check to see that the basics are covered and understood adequately. Then work through specific problems, with necessary tools, that demonstrate the same information. And finish with problems that may challenge the student to be able to 'take it to the next level' or use it in various situations or solve multi-step problems.
6th thru 10th grade students will benefit from this kind of help, whether they are regular or honor students. Mastering these basics is essential to doing well in higher level math subjects.
