About Romesh
My journey as a Mathematics teacher began with a rather personal experience: I was not always comfortable with Mathematics myself.
During my school years, I found topics such as Trigonometry, Mensuration, Coordinate geometry and Geometry particularly difficult. I could remember formulas, but understanding how and why they worked was not always easy.
Later, while preparing for government examinations, I went through these concepts all over again—but this time, I approached them differently. Instead of relying primarily on memorization, I focused on understanding the logic, practical applications and underlying concepts behind the mathematics. That change in approach completely transformed the way I looked at the subject.
I began teaching Class 9 and 10 Mathematics in 2017, and over the years I have also taught numerous students preparing for competitive examinations, particularly SSC examinations.
What began as teaching gradually became a genuine passion. I discovered that I particularly enjoy taking a concept that initially appears complicated or intimidating and presenting it in a way that is simple, practical, logical and easy to understand.
Because I have experienced the difficulty of learning certain mathematical concepts myself, I understand that every student does not learn in the same way. My aim is therefore not simply to teach formulas or complete chapters, but to help students understand Mathematics from the ground up, practice it consistently, and develop the confidence to solve problems independently.
I believe that Mathematics becomes much less intimidating when students are taught to understand it rather than merely memorize it—and that is the approach I strive to bring to every class.

My classes are built around a simple principle: understand first, practice consistently, and revise regularly.
I believe that Mathematics becomes much easier when students understand a concept through practical, relatable and application-based examples, rather than simply memorizing formulas and procedures. I therefore focus on developing genuine conceptual clarity before moving on to extensive problem-solving.
Once the concept is understood, students need regular practice to make that knowledge permanent. I encourage consistent problem-solving and gradually introduce questions of different levels of difficulty so that students become comfortable applying concepts independently.
Regular testing and revision are an integral part of my teaching method. I believe that frequent, well-structured tests are among the most effective ways to identify gaps in understanding, strengthen concepts, improve retention, and develop examination confidence. Test performance also helps us identify areas that require further revision and targeted practice.
My classes therefore follow a continuous cycle:
Concept Clarity → Practical Application → Practice → Regular Tests → Revision → Improvement
The ultimate aim is not merely to help students finish their syllabus, but to help them understand Mathematics deeply, retain what they learn, solve problems confidently, and translate that understanding into better examination performance.
