I am a big proponent of utilizing visual examples and every day objects/scenarios that allow students to relate the material more personally to them. My lessons usually start by focusing on what the overall goal/big picture of the material and then beginning to focus on what is giving my students the most difficulty. I am a full time middle school teacher which I find very advantageous to all levels of instruction because I have to constantly take in varying levels of information and reformat it to an appropriate form for the student I am currently working with. I have taught and tutored at middle and high school level as well as worked with younger students at science camp.
