About Ben
I am a multi-instrumentalist from Lincolnshire. I studied for a BaHons in Sound Production and Audio Engineering at The Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford. After graduating I immediately began teaching Drums and Bass guitar whilst audio engineering on the side at Powerhouse studios. Eventually I moved back to Lincolnshire to start The Rock Project Lincs, an all inclusive music school to get kids involved in music and to give adults the opportunity to connect with other musicians. Due to Covid, running my regular sessions has become difficult so I have moved to online one to one lessons. My passion for teaching and conversing all things music makes my online lessons of the highest quality and tons of fun!

Idea based teaching is the most valuable principle I have learned in my years of teaching. Each student is unique and has a method that would suit them best. What has made me so good at what I do is being able to empathize and identify with WHY a student wants to learn. From this understanding I will then organize lessons to set your learning in motion. I have found from working with over 200+ students in my career that the best, fastest and most effective learning is done when the student makes connections themselves. Although I could talk for hours about what I love, it is far more crucial to say the right things and allow the student the breakthrough moments. It is this style that has caused my students to form a connection with not only me, but with the core of why they want to play.
